Transatlantic Concert Life

This website documents instrumentalists, especially string players and pianists, in the US who had connections to Europe. It started with a project of tracking down the students of the violinist Joseph Joachim from the time he taught at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik (1869-1907). For the same kind of documentation for Berlin, see my other website:
Music in Berlin, 1870-1910
