Sanna Pederson specializes in nineteenth-century German music history, historiography, and aesthetics with publications on Beethoven and Wagner. She is Mavis C. Pitman Professor of Musicology at the University of Oklahoma, where she has taught since 2001. Her PhD dissertation on the history of German music criticism is from the University of Pennsylvania. She has a website on the Joachim Quartet (https://sannapederson.oucreate.com), and her blog,“German Music in Berlin, 1870-1910: an Empire for Absolute Music” (https://sannapederson.oucreate.com/blog) has been documenting 19th and early 20th century concert life in Berlin since 2017.
